In close cooperation with STEINBERG - especially with Mr. Martin Stahl - WK-Audio concepted and developed probably the best audio-controller in the world: ID Our intensions were aimed at the creation of a controller which was optimally compatable to the production software NUENDO developed by STEINBERG. In doing this it was extremely important for us, to prepare the controller optimally for future NUENDO-features whereby soft- and hardware structures repeatedly required detailed finetuning. During corporate product planning completely new or highly upgraded NUENDO features were created. The total result is without doubt a perfect tool for professional audio engineering. This generated a positive resonance amongst visitors and specialized magazines at the presentation of the prototype during the AES 2003 in Amsterdam.(e.g. STUDIO MAGAZIN ).

However, this doesn't make any difference to the end user. Both companies, Steinberg and WK-AUDIO contracted for a long term partnership focusing on a 100% compatibility between hardware and software.
	Driver Updates and all other software issues regarding ID-Controller and Nuendo are still provided by Steinberg and will be in the future. So the end user always knows who to contact in case of any trouble.... ...The amount of hard ware equipment is really impressing. The controller is equipped with: 12 touch sensitive motor faders; more then 40 encoders; nearly 400 buttons; more then 50 two line LCD displays and 32 LED bar graphs are already included in the basic version...

	... A very smart idea is a function, which you can see quite often on the controller. This function is as simple as ingenious and is called: " Push Hold Detection ": if you push a button only for a short time the corresponding function stays active. if you hold the button for a longer time the corresponding function will be terminated after releasing the button.... ...after all you can control24 Parameters with their names and values this way at the same time - really luxury...

	...It was quite a big loss, when we had to give back the ID Controller after the test period - and that says everything... ...without any doubt the ID is a real enrichment for a vast majority of professional DAW users... ...this excellently carried out edit section led us to the Idea, whether it would be possible to bring out an edit controller, as a separate product, based on ID´s edit section... ...the workmanship is rock solid... ...without any doubt pricing seems to us very reasonable, not only compared to prices of other manufacturers but also when remembering the prices one used to pay without a word for a large mixing console before the era of DAW.....

	...for all issues in connection with the software, ID users can use the same support channels as all other Nuendo customers...

	All together we can say ID is a sophisticated, practical add on for Nuendo users one doesn't want to miss anymore, after a very short time. This makes ID to a powerful argument pro Nuendo. The number and the workmanship of accessible controls and displays show into the same direction as the sophisticated optimization of work flows: wonna have it !!!
