PASSIVE

DYNAUDIO M1 PASSIVE NEAR FIELD (PAIR)
As the result of a long-term research project, analyzing the essential requirements of engineers working for long periods of time at high levels in front of a mixing console, the M1 is targeted first and foremost, at music mixing applications.

Specifically designed for mounting on or above the meter bridge on the console, the trapezoidal M1 has a frequency response tailored to compensate for the interference effects in the low and mid frequency regions caused by the console surface. It is the very first monitor to even approach a flat response in this complex and specific application, and provides dramatic improvements to the engineering environment in virtually any kind of control room. Due to an excellent phase response, the stereo field is of a clarity and precision absolutely essential to accurate mixing, and the M1 can comfortably generate the kind of levels and frequency response normally associated with much larger systems.

The M1 is a "High Energy" monitor, and every component has been designed for both quality of reproduction and extreme reliability. Each driver can comfortably handle 1000W transient with no degradation of signal or components, leading to an outstanding dynamic response when coupled with suitable amplifier. Distortion products are typically 15dB lower than so called reference monitors in current use - ensuring that the soundfield is highly accurate, and that "ear fatigue" is virtually eliminated.

The M1 is a quality reference tool which can transform almost any large console monitoring environment into one worthy of the digital era. Frequency response is 50Hz to 20Hz, and long terms SPLs of 122dB can be achieved at 1.25m. When coupled with one or two Dynaudio Acoustics subwoofers, the M1 is transformed into a full blooded main monitoring system which is flat from 35Hz to 20Hz, and is capable of delivering very high SPLs in mixing position.
DYNAUDIO M1.5 MID FIELD PASSIVE (PAIR)
The M1.5 is a fairly "punchy" monitor with an incredible bass response mainly suited to popular music tracking and mixing, voice and dialog recording, and as L, C, R monitors in high performance surround monitoring systems.

Mounted either in the nearfield on top of a console or in midfield just behind the console on suitable stands, it can easily fulfill the majority of monitoring needs. Flush mounting is also an option when careful attention is paid to room design, construction and acoustic treatment.

An obvious feature of the M1.5 is the extraordinary output from such a compact speaker.

For the first time, a performance exceeding that of many so called "main" monitors is available from a unit of a size suiting even the smallest facility.

With a frequency response from 40Hz to 20kHz, and a maximum output in excess of 120dB SPL at 1.25m, the M1.5 is truly exceptional.

Where it is quite normal to employ audio processing techniques to extract the last drop of performance from a drive unit in an active system, the totally passive M1.5 relies purely on component quality. The secrets behind its performance lie in the new high sensitivity drivers developed exclusively for this model, coupled with a very efficient twin ported cabinet and an impedance corrected crossover which ensures that the optimum load is presented to the amplifier at all times. Imaging is pin sharp, even in difficult environments, thanks to the directionally controlled tweeters. A trim switch on the rear of the cabinet allows for fine tuning of the mid/high frequency response, further enhancing its use in near and midfield environments with varying acoustical characteristics.
DYNAUDIO M2 3 way midfield, (PAIR)
Stereo imaging is pinpoint accurate thanks to the computer optimized designs of the crossover and drivers, and the M2 is capable of SPLs of up to 125dB at 1.25m as a stand alone system. When combined with a pair of Dynaudio Acoustics subwoofers, the system becomes a full 4 way main monitoring system capable of very high SPLs with a full frequency response down to below 35Hz.

The original design concept for the M2 was a compact near-to-midfield monitor, which would remove the need for larger built-in systems with their inherent problems of accuracy, installation and cost.

Every component of the M2 has been designed for both quality of reproduction and extreme reliability, and each driver can comfortably handle very high transients with no degradation of signal or components, leading to an outstanding dynamic response when coupled with a suitable amplifier with good current capabilities.

The result is a system which, in its various configurations, is the most flexible monitor package ever designed. By combining M2 with Dynaudio Acoustics subwoofer systems, it is possible to use one basic package for anything from desktop to main monitoring.

The M2 is essentially flat from 45Hz to 20Hz, and the specially designed bass, mid range and high frequency drivers are capable of reproducing impulsive transients of up to 1000W each without compression.
DYNAUDIO M3P PASSIVE MONITOR
Designed for continuous high power operation in a correctly constructed acoustic space, the M3 represents the fruit of a research and development program aimed at elevating main monitors above the realm of modified PA speakers. A pair of 300mm bass drivers are perfectly complemented by two 150mm piston midrange drivers employing massive 75mm coils. High frequencies are accommodated by a high power version of the 28mm ESOTAR T-330 DA dome tweeter, which enjoys a reputation as the finest dome tweeter available. All drivers are ferrofluid cooled, a benefit only made possible on low frequency drivers by the use of custom designed ferrofluid compounds applied to very tightly tolerated voice coil gaps – a feature absolutely unique to Dynaudio Acoustics.

The result is a very clean, dynamic and powerful speaker in which common problems, such as cone break up, thermal compression and phase misalignment have been almost eliminated. Frequency response is full and flat, and the overall transparency of sound leaves no doubt that the M3 truly advances the art of monitoring at high levels without sacrificing quality at more relaxing volume.

Levels from 85 to 120dBA exhibit essentially identical timbre allowing total confidence in mix decisions regardless of monitoring level.

Passive or Active The M3 Main Monitor is available in both Passive and Active versions. Both versions employ the same sophisticated impedance corrected passive crossovers between midrange drivers and tweeter. The Passive version has internal links for simple adjustment of low frequency levels, and is primarily intended for user installation on rigid stands within a control room, although soffit mounting is entirely feasible. The bi-amped Active system uses an active external crossover offering full equalization capabilities together with dual-band electronic driver protection.
