Chandler TG2 EMI Abbeyroad-Style Stereo Mic Pre
The Chandler Limited TG2 is a recreation of the rare EMI TG12428 pre amp used in EMI/Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles used in the late 60's and early 70's. The sound was used on many famous recordings done at Abbey Road including The Beatles "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon." The amplifiers were also used in many EMI circuits of the time. Our version was remade from original design notes and circuit board drawings, provided by Abbey Road and EMI to ensure extreme authenticty!

This pre features the same discrete transformer balanced amplifiers as the TG series limiter and offers a creamy, smooth tone with a surprisingly open, clear top end (dare we say nicer than Neve....) The sound, as explained by many users, has the Neve "warmth" and punch, but with a "nicer" expanded top end. In fact the unit does have a small rise in its top end frequency response and some warmth inducing distortion which contribute to its sound.

Options: Stepped Output (Stereo)

"Thanks for the support and for such a great pre/DI (TG2). My other pres have been feeling distinctly 'un-loved' since this baby arrived! After spending a week with the TG2, I now understand what all the talk has been about. The TG2 delivers the sound I have been searching for - a 'creamy' sounding mid to high frequency emphasis with punch. - Anthony Lim

"I found the preamp's sound quality somewhere between an API 512 mic preamp and Neve's 1272 amplifier as used in the 1073 and 1084 modules. You'll find a whole new sonic world here: higher dynamic range than the Neve combined with API's "harder, punchier" sound character. Doesn't disappoint with a wide open sound" - Barry Rudolph, "Mix Magazine" Feb '03

"Just a quick (belated) note to say thank you for the TG2 - wow! Spectacular sounding pre. I ran our bass player direct using the TG2 and the sound was amazing - crystal clear with full, deep low freq response. I'll be cutting vocal tracks with Barry tomorrow; I'm looking forward to hearing your pre with his U47." - John Merchant, Engineer- Bee Gees
Chandler LTD-1 Neve 1073 Style Mic Pre/EQ
The Chandler Limited LTD-1 is a hand wired 10-series equalizer and pre amp that has been handmade using parts and build techniques from the original manufacture of the modules. Grounding, wiring techniques, original transformers, transistors, inductors, and much more attribute to the special sound of these units and have been painstakingly recreated in each LTD-1.

In addition to the classic 10-series sound we add all the modern functions you expect and expand the EQ section giving you much larger palate to choose from. Features include high impedance direct in, 48v switching, output fader, eq in/out, phase reverse, balanced mic in, balanced line in, over built power supply to ensure maximum headroom, and nine additional eq points.

"In the LTD-1, Chandler Limited has gone out of their way to combine the tone of the best 10-series modules with the extra EQ points and functionality I need. One listen and I was hooked... " - John Paterno, engineer, Badly Drawn Boy, Joan Osborne, Los Lobos

"I have been using the LTD-1's since Chandler's start and I have never wanted to be without them since. These modules just seem to get better and more useful as time goes by. I have made them my first choice for recording kick drum because of the selection of frequency's and punchy clarity. They also have have become my first choice mic pre for my lead vocal chain. Great job Wade!" - Ross Hogarth, Grammy winning producer/engineer for Keb' Mo, Ziggy Marley, Coal Chamber

"The sound of rock..and more frequencies. Fat, round, warm..just the way I like my eq's!" - Joe Barresi, engineer, Hole, Weezer
Chandler Limited TG Channel MKII
The Chandler Limited TG Channel is a recreation of several classic circuits and combines a TG2 pre amp section with an equalizer that was redesigned from an equalization circuit used in the TG12410 Transfer or mastering console. The mastering counterpart to the original "Beatles desks". Our version has been remade using original design information and circuit board drawings as provided by Abbey Road to ensure extreme authenticity! We've even remolded the old TG style pointer knobs.

The active portions of the unit use the same discrete amplifiers and transformers as in the TG1 Limiter and TG2 pre amp. The passive equalizer portion of the EQ is an all inductor design and offers sweet high frequencies with large inductor based lows, and a very high "Q" mid cut section. Designed to sound like a fine musical instrument instead of a modern surgical tool, it's sound is very comparable to Pultec and Lang program eqs but made from TG circuits. A simple description would be a TG Pultec with a TG pre amp thrown in...

"I didn't think I'd need another EQ in my arsenal until I heard the Channel. I was secretly hoping I wouldn't like it because I don't have room but this Eq is so damn organic, so fat. I got a great snare sound that none of my other Eq's could touch, bummer, it got the "wow that's the s**t" factor! I found the room by replacing two eq's in my rack for two of chandler's Channel." -Michael Brauer

"The best piece of new gear made!" -Michael Wagener (Producer: Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Motley Crue)

"Again Chandler has done it and blown me away. These !!!###$$$$ mic pre's rule. There is not a sound that goes in that does not come out sweeter, richer, creamier than before. On the new Channel, the eq section is so sweet, you find yourself looking for ways to eq,when in the past you steered away from eq. Very cool. I am not one to mince words, so believe me when I say it, these !!##$$ 'ing boxes are the shit." - Ross Hogarth

"The pre is huge, and the EQ compliments it with the ability to extend the top and the bottom without getting harsh. The mid cut is great on those kick drum and bass areas that always need some attention, while not sacrificing the size of the track. And it's fun to use !! A big and smooth sounding EQ to compliment a big sounding mic pre. A great combination!" - John Paterno
Chandler Mini TG Rack Mixer
The Chandler Limited Mini TG Rack Mixer traces its lineage back to the TG12345 MKIV recording console, most famous for it's use on Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of The Moon", and is built with the TG MKIV line amp which was the heart and soul of much of the TG equipment, including the TG1, TG2, and TG Channel. This unit has been designed using original circuit drawings and design information provided by Abbey Road and EMI to ensure extreme accuracy.

Each Channel of the 16x2 Mixer is transformer balanced and driven by the TG MKVI amp, which is essentially a TG2 module without the extra gain. The buss and control room sections are driven by a pair of TG2 modules for each, totaling 20 discrete TG amplifiers in the unit, and delivering all the punch and tone you need for todays digital environment.
Chanlder Limited Germanium 500 Series Pre
The Germanium 500 is a 500-series compatible Germanium preamp. No circuit or transformer changes were necessary to adapt Chandler Limited designer Wade Goeke's original Germanium Preamp/DI into this version. Just like the original Germanium Preamp/DI, the Germanium 500 Preamp/DI uses classic germanium transistors in all class A, transformer balanced, circuits. The use of germanium devices opens a whole new sound palate not found in any pro audio equipment currently manufactured.

These incredibly smooth sounding transistors were the basis of the earliest transistor designs by Neve (1053, 1055, 1057), EMI (TG12345 MKI), Telefunken, and Fairchild. Those familiar with these units can attest to the special sound of the germanium transistor. The GERMANIUM series runs on high power, high current, and has a huge output before clipping. The sound is warm and smooth as with many vintage style circuits, but you'll find a whole new world of smooth here as well as a sound that settles in perfectly to your tracks without fighting. Add these new circuits to Chandler's new transformer line that combines the best parts of our favorite trannies, St. Ives and Gardners, into new great sounding input and output transformers.

Germanium 500 Preamp/DI is compatible with third-party racks, but for lowest noise and best possible performance, we recommend using the Chandler PSU-500 to replace the external power supply issued with your third-party rack. We do not recommend internal power supplies.
Chandler Limited Germanium Mic Pre
Chandler's newest series of units starts off with the GERMANIUM pre amp. A completely new design by Chandler Limited designer Wade Goeke that uses classic germanium transistors in all class A, transformer balanced, circuits. The use of germanium devices opens a whole new sound palate not found in any pro audio equipment currently manufactured.

These incredibly smooth sounding transistors were the basis of the earliest transistor designs by Neve (1053, 1055, 1057), EMI ( TG12345 MKI), Telefunken, and Fairchild. Those familiar with these units can attest to the special sound of the germanium tranasistor. The GERMANIUM series runs on +40 volt power, high current, and has a huge +34 output before clipping. The sound is warm and smooth as with many vintage style circuits, but you'll find a whole new world of smooth here as well as a sound that settles in perfectly to your tracks without fighting.
